Aquater 2050 is a concept for a new way of life based on the ocean.
The Aquater SEMAN is the main new technical component of the Aquater life. It is the equipment that makes it possible to live on the sea and gather energy to sell on the land.
- It includes a life-sustaining, energy producing watercraft called a SEMAN (Seagoing Energy Module with Automatic Navigation-Stabilization), that gathers energy from the wind, waves and sun with it’s special equipment and then stores the energy for sale to people on the land.
- It also has a unique design that keeps the craft from rolling in the waves, making travel more pleasant and energy gathering on the sea possible.
- It has hydroponic and reverse osmosis components that can grow food on the sea, and create potable water.
The Aquater Alliance is the new social concept for a civilization based on the sea, with communities made of groups of SEMAN so that there would be communities on the sea. The author has described this life and how it might develop in his book, Aquater.
The author, Leonard Wald, has made a half-size prototype of the SEMAN to test some of the patented inventions that will make it possible to live on the sea. He is also working on a full sized prototype of the SEMAN–called ALPHA. Pictures of these prototypes are shown below. Pictures of the prototype under cconstruction are shown in the SEMAN Prototype Update section.
